We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Assistant to join our hardworking and talented team in Central Edinburgh. We are a forward-thinking, creative company who love designing inspiring and design-driven gifts and stationery products that bring joy and pleasure to all daily organisational and administrative tasks!

Directly selling products to consumers via our website alongside supplying to well-known high street multiples such as John Lewis, Waterstones and online retailers including Amazon, this position requires an organised individual with excellent attention to detail who is great at planning and project managing. You will be a supportive team player who can use your initiative and thrive in a faced paced environment as part of a friendly and talented team.

A passion for the Busy B brand and stationery is important as our product offering is driven by a desire to make customers everyday life easier, more efficient and pleasurable. You will assist the Product Manager and working closely with the design, sales and production teams the role is varied and you will play an important part in ensuring processes go smoothly and deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for keeping master presentations and product documents updated
• Responsible for collating accurate content and information in the master template - used for Amazon and Busy B website (entering product copy, weights, dimensions, sku and RRP etc)
• Assist with seasonal research on competitor products and pricing
• Assist with seasonal market research with consumers (survey monkey, focus groups)
• Assist Product manager with execution of new product development initiatives and projects
• Contribute to bank of new product ideas
• Assist designers creating mock ups for sales meetings and trade shows
• Supporting production and design teams in peak times, providing assistance where required
• Assist with managing in house and external proofing process
• Preparing products for bi-annual photoshoots (pack shot and lifestyle)
• Registering all products with patent office
• Create barcodes for products
• Manage the production samples when these arrive, liaising with sales and marketing
• Ownership of the meeting room displays and ensuring samples are always up to date
• Archiving and cataloguing old samples
• Taking notes from key meetings, especially at early stage of the NPD process

Key skills and attributes:
• Adept in planning, prioritising and organisation
• Ability to forward plan to ensure each job is completed to its deadline
• Efficient and accurate with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A supportive team player who is able to multi task
• Thrives in a fast-paced working environment
• Pro-active and able to work using own initiative
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Positive can-do attitude
• Flexibility to undertake adhoc tasks
• Awareness of the current market and a passion for the brand and stationery
• Any experience of product development or product design would be an advantage
• Proven ability in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Experience of Survey monkey an advantage
• Mac native: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop skills would be advantageous
