A design-led, central Edinburgh brand seeks an experienced Digital Marketing & Ecommerce Manager to join their talented, highly collaborative team and lead the next phase of growth online. 

Busy B stationery is carefully designed with thoughtful ideas and gorgeous details to help busy women be the most they can be.  With sales of £3m via high street multiples such as John Lewis and Waterstones,, and Amazon, the company is looking for someone special to join their senior team and play a key role in shaping the brand's future success.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity and a key leadership role for a commercially focused digital marketing manager with a proven track record of growing ecommerce sales and really building brand awareness online. You will be integral in creating strategic direction and having a growth mindset is key.  You will be responsible for growing sales and sign-ups from and followers on social. Busy B is focused on evolving from a product company to a more premium, aspirational lifestyle brand and this role plays an important part in that development. You should have a genuine passion for the products and the brand and enjoy working closely with the product manager on joint initiatives to draw consumers to Busy B.

As a trusted partner to the MD and the senior team you will be able to apply your expertise to developing and supporting the digital team, driving website development, setting objectives and executing acquisition and retention strategies, evolving the brand, and creating excellent user experience and operational performance. This role requires a collaborative and positive leadership style, skill in driving and delivering new initiatives, and someone who is hungry and smart, who thrives in a team, and has passion and drive in abundance.

The strategic responsibilities are:

Growing revenue profitably and sustainably on to £1m over the next 3 years

- Structuring a clear plan for growth - Proactively identifying opportunities and how to give consumers compelling reasons to shop at versus Amazon

- Responsible for delivering sales targets, controlling budget spend and overall profitability of the channel

- Analysis of customer and performance data and looking at new ways to improve key metrics

- Lead and manage the consumer retention strategy to drive an increase in purchase frequency and AOV, Identifying and instigating new initiatives and working with external consultants where required

- Lead development of the CRM system and roll-out of targeted email campaigns and automated flows

- Responsible for excellent user experience across all touchpoints

- Oversee all aspects of customer service

- An ambassador for the brand – supporting and updating brand guidelines as required

- Responsible for performance and smooth operation of consumer and trade websites

- Manage all service and delivery processes for UK and export markets eg payment and delivery options, packaging, integrating systems, and warehouse

Grow email sign-ups on to 120,000

- Lead and manage the consumer acquisition strategy

- Responsible for agreeing and delivering sign up targets at and on social

- Managing SEO and Paid Ad activity and monitoring ROAS, working with external consultants where required

- Develop online PR strategy and ‘Kerri’ persona

Responsible for consistent brand experience across all marketing and sales channels

- Drive a consistent brand feel across each Busy B marketing channel – web, social, email

- Work with each channel lead to maximise market positioning for the brand to help drive sales growth to £5m by 2025 (e.g.,, Amazon, key accounts, independents, etc)

- Provide support and Input where useful into Amazon marketing activity - listings and AMS

- Input into on and offline content for trade marketing e.g catalogue, trade stand, trade website, trade video

- Responsible for all consumer marketing materials, leaflets, free gifts, etc


- Work closely as a trusted partner of the MD on strategy to shape the next phase of growth

- A key member of the senior team, a sounding board, and ally

- Provide direction, decision making, mentoring, and encouragement to the digital marketing team day to day

- Set objectives and KPI’s and manage and support workflow and priorities

- Support the planning and execution of all seasonal marketing activity to deliver business objectives


- Work with digital agency on website developments – Identifying and driving projects and resolving issues

- Work with the Warehouse, on new initiatives and ensuring they are updated on all website/marketing plans

- Work with Product manager on joint initiatives, maintain awareness of new product development

- Responsible for setting dept budgets and controlling spend

- Complete weekly reports tracking KPI’s, sales and budgets and attend relevant management meetings

The ideal candidate for the Digital Marketing & Brand Manager role will be:

- A forward-looking, commercial thinker with creative flair and a vision for the future potential of the brand

- Experience of marketing to different sales channels eg high street, own brand site, Amazon & marketplaces

- A mentor and go-to person for the digital marketing team who is supportive and approachable

- Great communication skills with the ability to give clear direction and inspire and encourage others

- Proven track record of growing brand awareness and creating successful initiatives to drive sales

- Ability to use own initiative and think creatively and innovatively to deliver results

- Takes ownership, is pro-active, organised, and in control, gives others confidence

- Ability to proactively identify opportunities and drive projects and is comfortable with teamwork

- Able to multi-task across different projects and tasks and thrives in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication

- As a key member of the senior team is able to input commercially into the overall strategy

- Proven technical ability to manage the back end of websites and ECRM’s

- Proven ability to guide a brand as it grows


Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

Experience of working with different sales channels to market, in particular Amazon, would be an advantage

Experience of Magento 2, NetSuite, Mailchimp, and other CRM systems
